Access Scaffold BOQ Calculator

Running metres, height and platform width in — the cuplock bill of quantities out. 2.5 m bays, 2.0 m lifts, guardrail on the outside face, planks on transoms.

Scaffold Size

Straight run along one wall. Dimensions in metres.
Length along the wall. Packed in 2.5 m bays; any remainder takes the next stocked ledger up.
Top of the standards. Platforms every 2.0 m with a rail 1.0 m above each.
The width is the cross ledger between the inside and outside standards.
Planks run along the scaffold on transoms at every standard line and mid-bay.
How it is built
  • Two rows of standards, one line per bay edge, stacked from 3.0 m and 2.5 m pieces with the fewest joints (6 m = 3 + 3).
  • Base ledger on both rows; at every lift a platform ledger on both rows and one guardrail ledger on the outside only — the inside stays open.
  • Width ledgers on every standard line at the base and each lift; the two end frames get a width ledger at rail height too.
  • Transoms of the platform width sit on the running ledgers; planks sit on the transoms.
  • Every other bay is braced on the outside face: one black tube per 3 m of height, 2 swivels each.

Take-off estimate — not a certified design

This calculator gives a material take-off for a straight, two-row cuplock access scaffold. Corners, returns, loading bays and stair towers are not included.

The final scaffold design must be prepared by a competent designer and the erected scaffold inspected before use. Contact our engineering team for a certified design package.
